Lyrical Writings of Michael Griese
October 16, 2008
I finally decided to put all my lyrics together online not only to save me time for reference, but to also stop me from sending a billion text files to people who want to read them. I enjoy writing a lot, and while some people say it's good, and some even think it's better than good, I still think of it as average. These are my thoughts and feelings and views of the world, and I want to point out that it's more important to have your own independant thoughts and feelings than to express them through any medium. The fact you have beliefs and views is what makes you human, and nobody can ever take that away.
I'm not asking you to enjoy or approve, but to stop and think about what I'm talking about. It's easy to listen to a song and ignore what it means. "Rejected" by Rancid is a freaking awesome song in terms of musical composittion, but if you actually read the lyrics the song means that much more. It's talking about social rejection, about not fitting in and realizing that you don't need acceptance from anyone but yourself. Stuff like that is ignored by the general public because they are too busy listening to shitty top 40 songs that have stupid repetitive lyrics about money, love and sex. Fuck those people, because we have other things to worry about.
Anyways, read at your will. I do appreciate feedback and opinions.
Songs:
2. Revolucion
3. Free Thought
4. Black Dawn
